Voters say Sir Keir Starmer is the worst prime minister in modern history. After five months in office, a staggering six out of ten people, including almost a third of Labour supporters, say they are “dissatisfied” with his record.
According to the Ipsos poll, which has been used to gauge the popularity of incoming prime ministers since Margaret Thatcher’s time, Sir Keir has a “net satisfaction” rating of -34.
According to the study, two-thirds of respondents believe that the economy will continue to deteriorate, making confidence in Sir Keir’s leadership the second-worst.
Following five months, Gordon Brown (-23) in 2007 and Rishi Sunak (-22) in 2023 were the second-unpopular premier. In 1991, Sir John Major (+33) was the most popular, followed by Sir Tony Blair (+57) in 1997.
Lettuce Liz Truss was removed after 49 days, therefore she didn’t get a five-month rating.
