Dick Van Dyke, who is getting close to 99, dances in the most recent Coldplay video.

 

Gamely making light of his age, Van Dyke is presented with a title card that states that he was born in 1925.

One such instance is when a voice encourages him to shut his eyes and consider the individuals who have had special meaning in his life.

He opens them after doing so. He laughs mischievously and adds, “I’ll take a nap—I’ll pass out and go to sleep—I’m too old for this!”

On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday, Martin said that he and Jonze came up with the idea to include Van Dyke in the video.

According to Martin, Van Dyke and he have been neighbors for a number of years. Regarding the video, Martin said, “I think this was the most enjoyable thing I’ve ever done.”
