In a letter to the NCAA, Michigan acknowledges violating the sign-stealing regulations.

It seems like a lot more time has gone by than it has, but not so long ago, the Michigan football team’s sign-stealing scandal during its 2023 national championship season was the greatest news in the sports world.

Michigan acknowledged violating NCAA regulations, but they also made it apparent that they will fight the NCAA’s investigation into their actions,

Which included former program worker Connor Stalions conducting an off-site sign-stealing operation that involved videotaping the signs of potential opponents.

Allegedly, Stalions, a low-level employee and former US Navy man, was sending colleagues to games and instructing them to record the opposition’s placards.

Stalions would be on the sidelines close to Michigan coaches to convert the signals into information, and they could then utilize standard game footage to correlate the signs with playcalls.

Jim Harbaugh, who is now with the Chargers, received a three-game suspension and Stalions was sacked shortly after the incident surfaced.
