In response to the Olympics committee’s criticism of the IBA’s gender eligibility standards, the IBA has fired back.

The so-called gender eligibility tests that two boxers were subject to in Paris have been met with criticism from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

On social media, the decision to allow Imane Khelif of Algeria and Lin Yu-ting of Taiwan to participate in the Summer Olympics this year has been the subject of much criticism.

After Italian boxer Angela Carini bowed out of her round-of-16 match against Khelif 46 seconds into the bout after taking a big hit, the comment sections got angry and full of false information.

Verified by GLAAD, neither Khelif nor Lin claims to be transgender or to have been born into a male body.

The boxers’ possible unusual disease, variations in sex development (DSD), is a major point of contention.
