Rescuers used a combination of dive teams and a drone to locate Dukic. He was rescued from the ocean around one hour after the dive team’s reaction, according to officials.

“There’s a lot of people in the community that are hurting right now, that are really sad, that knew the athlete well, that loved, respected this person,” he said. “A lot of people are in mourning.”
Dukic and his brother Luka were both participating in the CrossFit Games for the fourth time. In his first CrossFit Games in 2021, he finished ninth. The next two years, he repeated the process, placing eighth and ninth, respectively.
Brand TYR Sport signed Dukic to an agreement in 2022 after he retired from water polo after ten years of competition in Serbia and moved to the US to attend college.
