The nation’s highest military distinction, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, is given to service personnel who are injured or get it posthumously, according to former President Donald Trump,
who said on Thursday that the civilian award “is actually much better” than the military one. During comments at his golf club in Bedminster,
New Jersey, Trump was applauding Republican megadonor Miriam Adelson, to whom he had given the Presidential Medal of Freedom while in office.
“Miriam, I saw (her late husband Sheldon Adelson) sit so proudly in the White House when we presented her with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.” The highest honor a citizen may get,
