In response to the Olympics committee’s criticism of the IBA’s gender eligibility standards, the IBA has fired back.

The International Olympic Committee’s spokesperson Mark Adams has come out once again in defense of the decision to allow Khelif and Lin to participate, just as they did in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Adams questioned the validity of the IBA’s gender eligibility tests during a press conference on Sunday (August 4). She said:

“The tests themselves, the process of the tests, the ad-hoc nature of the tests are not legitimate. You’ll also expect me to tell you that

I’m not going to discuss the individual intimate details of athletes in public, which I think is pretty disgraceful for those who have leaked that material.”

Adams continued by mentioning the individuals seated in the middle of the row, before saying, “Frankly, to be put in that position must be awful, on top of all of the social media harassment that these athletes have had.”
