In response to the Olympics committee’s criticism of the IBA’s gender eligibility standards, the IBA has fired back.

Both players’ results from 2023 testing pointed to a male gender, according to Filippatos: “The medical result, blood result, looks – and the laboratory says – that these boxers are male.”

Two blood tests have come back with a male karyotype, and that’s the root of the issue. “This is the laboratory’s answer,” he emphasized.

Both Khelif and Lin have advanced to the semi-finals, ensuring that they will both get medals, regardless of the continuing dispute.

“Everyone competing in the women’s category is complying with the competition eligibility rules,” Adams has previously said.
